Surfing Dog Cornwall. Surfing Dog Amazes Beachgoers in Cornwall: Labrador Rides Waves at Fistral Beach. We’ve all been soaking up the sunshine this weekend after another heatwave sent UK temperatures into the 30s again. Cornwall Live reports that it wasn’t just us Brits who flocked to beaches and swimming pools to cool down, as our furry friends have been making the most of the waters.
A phenomenal surfing dog. This weekend, bathers on a busy Cornish beach were stunned when a dog managed a difficult feat for many humans. On Saturday, bathers at Fistral Beach, Newquay, were amazed to see a black Labrador on a surfboard.
The dog was seen by dozens, if not hundreds, of people as he gracefully surfed his board over a light wave. As soon as he reached the shore, he calmly stepped off the board before waving to his amused owner.
Kerryn Groves said of the sight: “Just a dog surfing like a pro on Fistral today. He loved surfing with his dad.”
Mrs Groves’ video has been viewed thousands of times on Facebook and Twitter, with hundreds of comments. Many comments suggested they train their dogs to ride the waves.
The beach was bustling this weekend with the 29 degrees Celsius heat and the nearby Boardmasters festival bringing thousands more people to the area.
