French Bulldog Breeder. I’m thrilled to introduce you to Tomi Kiss from TomKingsKennel.com, a renowned breeder of French bulldogs in Southern Hungary. TomKings Kennel is dedicated to raising healthy, well-balanced, and well-mannered Frenchies that make wonderful companions for families worldwide.

In this blog, we have the privilege of interviewing one of the co-founders of TomKings Kennel, who will share their insights into the world of French bulldog breeding and provide valuable tips for potential French bulldog owners.

Q. Can you tell me a little about yourself and your background?

Tomi Kiss: I’m Tom, and my journey with animals started early on. As a child, I was drawn to caring for them, which stayed with me through my professional wrestling career and even into my studies in animal breeding. That blend of passion and experience drives me in everything I do at TomKings Kennel.

We can go back to as early as the childhood of Tomi, the co-founder of TomKings. He has loved animals from an early age. When he was five, he got a dog as a present from his father.

Q. What inspired you to start TomKings Kennel?

Tomi Kiss Our inspiration for starting TomKings Kennel stemmed from a shared dream with my brother, Geri. After competing at the Beijing Olympics in freestyle wrestling, we wanted to channel our dedication and passion into raising dogs. That’s when I decided to embrace my lifelong love for animals and live on a farm surrounded by dogs, especially Frenchies. This love became a mission to breed the healthiest and most beautiful French Bulldogs.

Q. What is your vision for the company?

Tomi Kiss: Our vision for TomKings Kennel is to set a new standard in breeding practices. We’re committed to providing top-notch care, ensuring the health and happiness of our Frenchies, and fostering lifelong connections between our pups and their adoptive families worldwide.

Q. What are your biggest challenges and opportunities as the co-founder of TomKings Kennel?

Tomi Kiss: One of our most significant challenges is to breed and raise the healthiest Frenchie puppies free from genetic and other health issues. However, this challenge also presents an opportunity for us to reshape perceptions around ethical breeding and show that it’s possible to raise healthy, happy French Bulldogs by maintaining the highest standards in breeding.

Q. What are you most proud of accomplishing so far?

Tomi Kiss: One of the most rewarding achievements has been building a global community of happy Frenchie parents called the TomKings Frenchie Family. Knowing and seeing that our pups bring immense joy to families worldwide is genuinely fulfilling.

Q. What are your plans for the future of TomKings Kennel?

Tomi Kiss: Regarding the future, our goal is ambitious yet clear: we want to become the most renowned French Bulldog kennel globally. We aim to set and showcase the highest standards for all breeders worldwide. We also work hard to continuously elevate our breeding practices, expand our community, and contribute to the well-being and reputation of French Bulldogs on a global scale.

Q. What advice would you give someone wanting to start their own business?

Tomi Kiss: The most crucial piece of advice we’d offer to a new breeder is to breed Frenchies only if you genuinely love them, never for profit. Passion and genuine care for the well-being of the dogs should always be the driving force behind your breeding endeavours. Remember to place significant emphasis on choosing and breeding perfect-structured and well-tempered parents, screening them for genetic and other health issues, all while ensuring exceptional love and care for the dogs.

Q. What is your favourite thing about working with dogs?

Tomi Kiss: The best thing about working with dogs is their unconditional love and companionship. It’s a profound bond that brings immense joy to both sides. Moreover, working with dogs allows us to create a global community, connecting with amazing people worldwide who share our love for French Bulldogs.

TomKings Puppies was born in 2009. Tomi studied animal science at university, and with his partner, Sandra, they regularly attend puppy training academies. But more importantly, everyone in the family puts their whole heart into raising the Frenchies.

Q. What is your most memorable moment from working with dogs?

Tomi Kiss: Every moment spent with a newborn pup or seeing them off to a loving home holds a special place in my heart. These moments remind me of why we do what we do.

Q. What is the most rewarding thing about working with dogs?

Tomi Kiss: The most rewarding part is witnessing the joy on the faces of new Frenchie parents and receiving updates about our pups thriving in their new homes. Knowing that our puppies bring happiness and love into their new homes is incredibly fulfilling for everyone at TomKings.

After wrapping up the primary interview, my interviewee and I found that we still had some extra time, so I decided to take the opportunity to ask them a few more questions. Even though we had already discussed the key topics I wanted to cover, I felt this bonus time would allow me to gain more insight into their experiences and perspectives.

The interviewee gave thoughtful recommendations that many of our readers will find helpful. Overall, having that extra window to continue our conversation enabled me to get quotes and details that enriched the profile piece I was writing. I’m glad I took advantage of that extra Facetime to get more compelling content and a deeper understanding of my interview subject.
