Necon Pet Food Company Profile: Artisan Quality and Innovation

The company’s most popular products include the SALMOIL line, which is a complementary food for dogs and cats that is high in omega-3 fatty acids.

Founded in 2005, we – at Necon Pet Food – strive towards the research and development of top quality dog food.

Necon Pet Food was founded in 2005 as a pet food company with the mission to research and develop dog food with high-quality ingredients. Although innovation-oriented, Necon Pet food production has always been accurate and controlled, typical characteristics of artisanal meticulousness.

After the first vital awards for the Atletic Dog line for sporting dogs from owners and breeders, Necon Pet Food developed new ranges of dry dog food, No Gluten and Zero Grain and to these, it added, following strong demand, a superpremium line for cats: Natural Wellness, which complements the same line for mini-sized dogs.

Three simple principles of Necon Pet Food

Necon Pet Food, our only secret lies in our yearning to fully reveal the contents of our products to you.
The entire production process conceived at Necon Pet Food works selectively to process the ingredients by subjecting them to diversified heat and production treatments.

All of the company’s formulations have three points in common:

1. The simplicity of the recipe

Each Necon Pet Food recipe consists of only a few natural ingredients and only the highest quality because the well-being of the animals comes first.

2. Quality of raw materials

Each supplier is carefully selected so that the raw materials are safe and controlled.

3. Double processing with cold finishing

Nceon is distinguished by its unique production process that selectively processes ingredients by subjecting them to extra heat and production treatments.

Starches and carbohydrates are processed at ideal temperatures to optimise gelatinisation and improve digestibility.

Proteins and fats undergo a low-temperature process to optimally preserve their nutritional value and organoleptic characteristics. The previously dehydrated animal proteins are applied to the outside of the kibble, improving both the nutritional quality of the product and its palatability.

The added value of Necon Pet food is provided by knowledge and passion, which contribute to producing unique, state-of-the-art dog and cat food such as Salmoil.

Salmoil: not just a simple salmon oil

In 2018, based on the idea of owner Andrea Conforti, Necon Pet Food launched an authentic novelty: Salmoil, an inimitable line of complementary foods for dogs and cats to supplement their daily Omega 3 requirements naturally.

Numerous scientific pieces of evidence have demonstrated the beneficial effects of ‘essential fatty acids’ in dogs and cats and how essential they are in the diet, as a deficiency of these can lead to dysfunctions in the body.

Only Salmoil guarantees higher Omega 3 values than any other dry or wet pet food and, thanks to this high percentage of fatty acids, contributes to the daily well-being of dogs and cats.

In all six recipes of the Salmoil line, developed by Necon Pet Food with the support of veterinarians specialised in animal nutrition, the combination of functional ingredients with those rich in Omega 3 fatty acids enhances their specific nutritional function. This is how Salmoil differs from other salmon oils for dogs and cats.

Linseaoil Ricetta 3 used daily: keeps healthy skin and coat.
Linseaoil Ricetta 3, composed only of ingredients from vegetal origins, can be used as an Omega3 source in exclusion diets for animals with intolerance/allergy to animal proteins and in industrial or homemade veggie diets.
  • Salmoil Recipe 1 Renal Well-being: contains salmon, olive oil, and a pool of antioxidant-rich ingredients to protect your pet’s kidneys and support their function.
  • Salmoil Recipe 2 Intestinal Well-being: Indicated for stimulating intestinal flora and modulating the immune response, it helps to promote the proper functioning of the digestive tract effectively.
  • Salmoil Recipe 3 100% Vegan: with linseed oil and Schizochytrium Algae, for all sensitive, intolerant or allergic to specific animal proteins.
  • Salmoil Recipe 4 Odor Control: with pure Norwegian salmon oil, Ascophyllum algae and FOS (microbial-FOS), it has been formulated to help reduce bacterial plaque and dental tartar, counteracting the phenomenon of halitosis and intervening in favour of oral hygiene—the presence of FOS limits fermentation in the intestine.
  • Salmoil Recipe 5 Beauty of the Mantle: to contribute daily to the maintenance of healthy skin and shiny coat, this recipe contains an exclusive mixture from selected sources to fill up on Omega 3; the very high percentage of omega contained in the product is further underlined by the payoff “SUPEROMEGA.
  • Salmoil Recipe 6 Joint Health: counteracts oxidative stress and contributes to good joint function thanks to the purest Norwegian salmon oil, enriched with New Zealand green mussel, devil’s claw and Boswelia to reduce pain and inflammation.

The original aluminium pack is only Salmoil.

If the contents are on top, the container must be too! The unique aluminium pack is original, environmentally friendly, and sustainable, only Salmoil.

Aluminium is durable, shields from light and is not permeable to air, so it protects the precious contents from oxidation for longer.

In addition, this preference has proven to be highly sustainable. The Salmoil bottle is infinitely recyclable. It can be disposed of according to the local waste collection consortium’s instructions regarding handling aluminium.

The decision not to use a “push-pump” dispenser aims to maintain the product’s characteristics and avoid blowing oxygen, a pro-oxidant material, into the packaging. The elegant and robust cap makes the package airtight to preserve the food and its essential properties.

Salmoil is easy to transport and simple to use. It is added to dry or wet pet food in the bowl and is ideal for the Barf diet. Just add a spoonful to the bowl for a healthy filling.
